On the 150th anniversary year of the Smithsonian, there was also a
celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Accession to the throne of
His Majesty, King Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX in Thailand. On this
occasion, Oddi Printing of Iceland was selected to design and print a
coffee table book, cataloging collection of gifts from the Royal Thai
family to the presidents and the people of the United States. Oddi's
most experienced book designer came over and supervised the photography
of the artwork and objects for the book at the Smithsonian.
