In 1998, a young writer named
Dave Eggers came to Oddi to start a modest literary journal he called
Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern. The results have changed the way
the world looks at independent publishing.
Dave and the Oddi
staff combine talents to create publications in ways that have never
been done before. One season, we'll create a journal consisting of
saddle stitched booklets nested in a raw board, foil stamped bookcase.
A few months later, we'll produce an elegant Smythe-sewn book with
embossing, foil stamping and printed effects on the bookcase. The
possibilities of McSweeney's creativity are limitless, and we're proud
to say that our ways of realizing them are the perfect match.
