At Oddi, quality printing includes a firm commitment to the environment. From paper stock through printing and bindery, each step in our production process conserves and protects natural resources. For these practices and others, the Reykjavik City Council awarded Oddi its first-ever Environmental Award, in 1997.
Most of the paper used by Oddi is manufactured in Germany and Scandinavia, where foresters plant four new trees for each one tree felled for paper production. Levels of chlorine used for bleaching are lower than the permitted amounts in drinking water.
Excess paper, timber and all other forms of waste at our Reykjavik plant are re-used or recycled. Developing fluids and other chemical wastes are carefully stored for recycling.
